Being first time dog owners, we got our toy poodle puppy Betty at 11 weeks old, we realised we needed some help and guidance in training her to become a confident, well mannered obedient dog, and for myself and my partner to make us the best doggy parents we could be.
We started Betty with the puppy 1 to 1 training where Tara came to our house, she put us at ease and Betty took to her straight away so her training has come on leaps and bounds and we have the knowledge off Tara now to progress Betty into adulthood.
They have now took Betty on a puppy socialisation class and a mini adventure, where she gets contact with other puppies and are in different environments in the trusted hands of Tara and Neil, who are both lovely people.
We look forward to Betty joining in other classes to fulfill her life with different experiences.
A huge thank you to you both for making our few few months with Betty a pleasure.

Tara and Neil have known my dog Bella - a very energetic, bouncy and happy golden retriever, since she was a small puppy. I first met Tara when she came to see us in our home. Both Bella and I felt immediately at ease with Tara.

I have to say, the training provided at the beginning to the socialisation pack walks as Bella moved on, have been more valuable than I could have ever imagined.

Tara helped me to understand Bella’s needs and how she changes developmentally from her puppy hood to adult years. In turn, providing me with the tools to be the leader Bella needs.

Tara has always been on hand to give any advice if I’ve needed it.

Bella absolutely adores her days out with Tara, Neil and some of the other dogs that go out with her. As Bella jumps into the van she never looks back and is always VERY excited to go. The socialisation days are so good for Bella and she’s made a few furry friends too. Tara always sends videos of the fun Bella is having.

Tara and Neil take such good care of Bella and they are very loving and safety conscious. I am never worry as I know Bella is receiving the best of care and having great fun at the same time. Bella also has some training on her fun days such as re visiting walking nicely on the lead.

If you are looking for some support with your dog I highly recommend Need to Lead. You won’t regret it.

Their commitment to helping me train Bruno through his adolescence has been invaluable. He is now a much more balanced boy who doesn’t struggle so much with canine interactions. They understand completely that every dog is different and work with this rather a blanket approach to training.
Bruno loves his weekly pack walks - and is so excited to see Tara and Neil every time.

From the initial telephone conversation I felt at ease with Tara so immediately engaged in the 6 week puppy training course with our Sprocker Spaniels Jasper and Monty.

The advice, training guides and support Tara provided was invaluable. Our 1-2-1 sessions worked perfectly but Tara also provided some training activities that the rest of the family could get involved in too which was great.

I'm very lucky as the training continues for the puppies when they have their daily walks with Tara and Neil so everything they have been taught is reinforced. The pack socialisation walks are an absolute hit as it has allowed the puppies to meet and interact with other dogs and gives them the level of exercise they need

I would highly recommend A Need To Lead and the services provided. Jasper and Monty have a fab time and I know that Tara and Neil care for them as if they are their own.

From my initial phone conversation, Tara and Neil was able to come and visit me and my bully Milo within a few days. We were then booked in for our 1:1 session a few days later. With the right tools, we had Milo heel walking within days, which was very much needed considering his size. Tara and Neil came up with the perfect training plan for us to help Milo become calm and less excitable.

With learnt techniques, Milo has stopped jumping up 99% of the Time, the other 1% is people encouraging him. We are also working on leave it, stay, wait and his impulse control.

I can't thank Tara and Neil enough for giving me the confidence to be the right person for Milo. 100% recommend.

My dog has been going on a weekly adventure walk with Tara for the past 6 months and he absolutely loves it. He started off going as a puppy to help his socialisation and he’s now well socialised and loves playing with all of the other dogs. Tara is great and sends picture updates of all of the different places she takes the dogs. They go to the woods, fields and enclosed play areas. My dog comes back tired and happy every time. These guys (husband and wife team) are brilliant, caring and very knowledgeable . My dogs love them and I know they are in capable hands. When my dogs are with them, They keep us upto date with my dogs progress, lots of videos. I would thoroughly recommend them. Thanks

Amazing walkers, really friendly they get to know you and your dog! they have been able to provide me with insights as to why my dog behaves in certain ways. I will be using their training services too because of this. Definitely recommend!
