Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean with great facilities if you're staying all week and need to self cater.
Big kitchen with own shelf in fridge and cupboards, plenty of cooking facilities.
The room was immaculate, but as a self-catering facility, there were no extras in the room (Tea/Coffee making)
The room never really got warm, lightweight quilt didn't help.
There was no radiator in the bathroom, which was really cold (may just have been my room). No body wash/shampoo in the bathroom. If you're used to a hotel room, then you'd be left short!
Small telly and poor WiFi too.
Overall, good value, just bring your own stuff, it's a self-catering facility and the price reflects this.

Faultless place.

Great staff, nice comfortable clean rooms. Kitchen was better equipped than my own kitchen!! We weren’t planning on using the shared facilities until we saw how nice they were! Amazing price. Good location for a day trip into the Lake District.

So the score I gave was 3, but this is misleading. The accommodation is fantastic and on booking.com and Google and here, I support all the positive comments. The comments about the kitchen and cleanliness and value for money is all spot on. However, I have walked away with mixed views. ||1. The place is first a contractors accommodation. The contractors themselves are a lovely and professional bunch. However, there is a nuance here where the place is advertising for leisure guests but housekeeping make it known Ito is for contractors. I felt I was not welcome or that the housekeeping team begrudged leisure guests who who there more in the day times. I also get the impression housekeeping are protective of the contractors and would rather contractor guests rather than leisure guests. ||2. There is a culture of general ‘nosiness’ or intrusiveness - where some guests who ‘live’ at the venue and housekeeping both intrude, ask inappropriate intrusive questions and then gossip about guests. Please be aware of this and ready to politely ask them to ‘mind their own business’ when it gets too much. I even had two housekeeping staff -Julie and Terry- inform a male long term guest when I was checking out, something they should never have done. This male guest, with another guest also was rather catty and gossiped about me- making up lies. ||3. There is one or two guests who are living at the accomodation, and gets territorial over the communal space in the daytime, as they are ‘used’ to having it to themselves in the day time and then perceive this as their ‘entitlement’. This is awkward if you have paid twice as much as them as a leisure guest, and then quite rightly so, would also like to relax with a book in the communal space, and do so with privacy and not have to divulge your entire life to them. ||4. Housekeeping talk about guests loudly in a cupboard and it is extremely unpleasant.||5 Housekeeping are present from 6am until 2pm and again 6pm until late at night. This has good and bad points to it, and it can feel very stifling and as if you are ion their space, rather than having a room and space to rest and relax. It is a bit too much. ||||The good points are: fantastic kitchen, staff, who despite being inappropriately intrusive or interfering, are also very very attentive and hardworking. The kitchen is amazing, the mattresses are amazing. The place is spotless, absolutely spotless. The positives mentioned in all the other reviews do resonate.

Fantastic accommodation on a stunning island, with a golf course and beach just a short walk away.

Top-notch services, exceptional hospitality, friendly staff, free parking, and electric charging stations.

We enjoyed several days here and highly recommend it.

Fantastic place to stay. Clean and tidy throughout the areas. Nice kitchen area available and dining room. Rooms lovely. Nice easy walk to the beach and to the local pub, the crown, which can’t recommend enough. The staff at Weat point were lovely and helpful. Liked it so much added extra nights. Perfectly placed for day trips into the lakes or to walk the two nature reserves on the island. Will be back.

This is a wonderful home-away-from-home on beautiful Walney Island, with great facilities (beautifully equipped kitchen, with your own cupboard, fridge and freezer space, large welcoming lounge etc) and friendly, helpful staff. There is a book lending library and plenty of jigsaws etc to keep you occupied plus Sky in the lounge and a wide range of Freeview channels in the rooms (even enough for this square-eyed TV addict), along with free wifi, of course. Both local takeaways and local shops deliver here, if (like me) you can't be bothered to cook and there are excellent pubs and restaurants nearby.
I have been staying in a large, double room with en-suite for three weeks and cannot fault anything about it or the staff. The managers, Gavin and Jemma, have gone the extra mile to help me whenever I've needed it.
I would recommend West Point House to anyone, whether for business or pleasure, and will certainly visit again.

Just got home from a lovely weekend at this hidden gem, West Point Woods. We stayed in a glamping pod! Fresh, clean, everything you need! Basket of logs and coal provided for the fire pit & BBQ. The younger ones were entertained with play area, chalk board, swing & slide, even an outdoor play kitchen. The hammocks were a hit for the mid afternoon snooze, walking distance to beautiful beaches and nature reserve. A family of 11 aging from 2 to 70 all had a fabulous relaxing break, will sure to be back.

What a fabulous place! The room was lovely, beautifully presented, the kitchen is so well equipped and spotlessly clean and a large comfortable lounge and garden area. ||When i booked I had my reservations as it is listed as contractors accommodation , so I had to trust in the great reviews it receives. It is as good as any hotel I have stayed in for a lot more money, I just had the best weekend there and will definitely return. ||The staff are just the best and clearly work hard at presenting this very well organised and spotlessly clean accommodation.||Walney Island is lovely feels remote along the coastal area but close enough to walk to Barrow in under a hour or there is a very good bus service. Get off at West Point, cross the road and go through Eden Ave and just follow the road round. Barrow town is surprisingly nice with a lot of shops and cafes and great bus service into the Lake District area of Ulverston and Windermere and British Rail connections .
