Core Philosophy and Educational Approach

\n\n

At the heart of Woodland Montessori lies the Montessori method, developed by the renowned Dr. Maria Montessori. This approach emphasizes learning through experiential learning and emphasizes the child's natural development. The school creates an environment rich with carefully designed, self-correcting Montessori materials specifically crafted to engage children's senses and promote hands-on discovery across various domains including practical life skills, sensorial development, language acquisition, mathematics, science, and cultural studies. Unlike traditional settings, the Montessori classroom typically allows for a certain degree of freedom within defined limits, encouraging children to choose activities based on their interests and developmental needs, fostering concentration and deep engagement.

\n\n

The teachers at Woodland Montessori are not merely instructors but skilled guides, or Montessori assistants, who observe each child's unique development and provide individualized support. Their role is to prepare the environment, introduce materials, and step back, allowing children to absorb knowledge and skills at their own pace. This individualized approach is a cornerstone of the Montessori system and is evident at Woodland Montesi. The goal is to help children develop not just academically, but also socially, emotionally, and physically, laying a strong foundation for future learning and success.
