I lived here in October up until the 5th of February 2025. I was in one of the flats my window was broken in my bedroom to the point I couldn’t shut it. I had no heating throughout the flat and was continuously cold. I was getting ill all the time becauae of this. I had to move my matress into the warmest room in the flat which wasn’t very warm but it was warmer than my bedroom. I had to warm up my flat by turning on my oven. I reported this so many times and nothing was done about it. I made a formal complaint was given an apology. I was oaying the whole of my rent at the time but yet nothing was done about it. Since moving out last week I’ve learnt that someone else has moved into the flat and as soon as I moved the repairs had been done AFTER I moved out. Not only this most staff are extremely rude and have their favourites. A group of people were sat smoking and taking drugs in their rooms which could be smelt all around campus. It was reported so many and yet nothing was done about it. When I signed for my permant property, I had no furniture and I asked if I could stay to the Friday as that’s when my furniture was being delivered, theh said no and rushed me out. The day of me moving I couldn’t fit all my belongings in a car and asked if I could leave my stuff in recieption for half an hour but told I wasn’t aloud. Rheir is a certain cook who is extremely rude and gives us under cooked food and a lot of people got food poisoning. If anyone is looking to live here I wouldn’t suggest it. Due to me getting ill and having severe mental health issues which was made worse by staff and residents I’m now suggest it.

I lived there for almost 2 and a half years and they way the staff treat you is appalling and they also discriminate against people with special needs and the food is disgraceful I've had food poising multiple times and the ymca is supposed to be a drug alcohol and anti crime free site but when I got threatened multiple times the staff told me to get over it and I would recommend donating to them and the donations don't actually go towards the residents and the staff take them for them self's

I was there for one night and found out they messed my papers up and said I was 18 when I’m 17 when I was told I’m not allowed to be there went to my room and things were all ready packed had to go back to where I was lucky I was still registered there. Staff walk away from big situation and hide in the kitchen. No one takes fire alarms seriously everyone sat in the lounge. Kids wondering if to smoke weed. Very unethical. Would not recommend here

Run by people's who only goals is to make money. Charging residents for food donated by Bird's, Greggs etc is not good for residents to see ...If you don't have mental health problems, you soon will do living here. No privacy, enter rooms without knocking, your mail be open , lies be told & you no one to trust!.

In recent news:
They've decided to throw out 12 of their residence because they want to "downsize" and "descale" one of the blocks.
They have these twelve people, one of which is my friend, 14 days notice to find a new place to live.

Then they have the sheer audacity to post about "Sleep Easy" and "Homelessness" all the while throwing vulnerable people put onto the streets to fend for themselves with no mental health support.

Avoid avoid avoid!
Scammy company.
Oh ..don't donate to them either. They use all the donation money on takeaways for their staff, nights out for the staff...while their vulnerable residents eat rotten and raw, undercooked leftovers.

The Staff secretively do not like certain people who are not their mates, who try and succeed. The staff conjure reason to evict, to favour their mates evil intentions. I currently have a legal case against them. - Update: Ombudsman case won. Why: It was proven that the "Sexual" Allegations made by the Staff towards me, was not true during the Complaints Process, was disregarded, and in breach of their company Policy. However the reward is disgraceful and pathetic, and no members of staff have been Sacked. The persons whose allegations they created, bullied young students from the Derby College. Absolutely disgraceful.
