My grandson did a Btec level 3 AME in engineering here and a level 2 before that here. It was one of the worst mistakes he's made he says. The teachers are apathetic at best and outright ignores you at worst. The school struggles with keeping track of where students are with their coursework and if it's up to the required standard. Often leaving them to do thur own thing. Till the last few weeks where they realise how far behind they are. They also struggle with making sure people are on top of other needs. Like their Ucas applications or cv. Often leaving them to do our own thing till the last minute.

Student behaviour is also terrible, with cheating and plagiarism rampant. Often being ignored just so people can turn in something. Even when it's obvious work is being passed around and people are just copying articles from the internet and rewriting it using online tools. Or using chat GPT and other ai tools. Its very blatant.

There is very little parent teacher communication and support for students with special needs. My grandson has autism and came from a special needs secondary school and has an EHCP. And they barely cared about that fact or tried to make any adjustments. Or help with his transition into a new environment.

Maybe it's more hands-on and practical courses are better taught. But from what he's seen from he's Btec AME I wouldn't risk it.

Go anywhere else. This place will destroy your interest in whatever you study and you will barely learn anything here. If it wasn't for all the stuff going on during the pandemic and the fact

This is hands down the worst college in the west midlands never mind birmingham. Lazy unmotivated teachers that have been reported but no action has been taken place. Really old facilities. Classrooms with nothing inside of them not even the bloody carpet. Rooms being hauled with pcs, tables, chairs and any rubbish as a store room. If you come to this college you need to have a car as it is barren, the closest shops is probably one stop. I wouldnt even let my worst enemy go to this college. Please for the love of god dont come here im doing you a favour. Also was attacked but nothing was done as the cameras were not working🤦🏿‍♂️.

Great place and facilities. The main study area is open plan and near to the main entrance, meaning that in freezing weather you'll be shivering while doing homework so wrap up warm and wear thermals, even the staff have to! 😅

If I could pick no stars I would.
Awful college lets students leave early then blame students for failing course. Tell students they are a waste of space. Rude to parents on phone when parents are trying to get student more revision to help them pass. No communication from staff or college to put a formal complaint about the staff and college. Poor management, Poor teaching. Don’t pick electrical course and enrol here worst college around

worst college of all time. Timetables are not well organized teachers do not teach (one of them is actually dyslexic). Trust me do not come here or you will receive the wrong certificate.

Want a college that’s awful to get too if you don’t drive then go James Watt campus (!) honestly they should chat with the bus services there you only have two options 28 or 997 and no train stations near by and to add insult to injury they used to have engineering at Sutton college but moved it over 10 years ago during the BMET merger. Strongly recommend if you drive but two thumbs down if you don’t
