I studied A-Level maths and thought it was great. My tutor Jonathan was always quick to respond to my queries and always gave great feedback on assigments. Within the student forums there's always someone that will be able to help you whatever time of day it is. I would definitely recommend.

My daughter has been studying 3 A levels online with the NEC. Online learning is definitely a challenge, especially if you are new to it. There is a massive learning curve and you must be self motivated and determined. However these are big skills that are then transferable if you plan to go to University. The NEC has been so helpful and understanding during my daughter's time with them. Although you study on your own, they are always there to answer questions and give support where needed. One of the advantages is that you can work through the material at your own pace at a time to suit you. They are now also offering fast track A levels which have more tutor support and deadlines which are a great way to keep you motivated. My daughter is now choosing which university to apply to and just received the most amazing predicted grades. So we are very happy. Online is not an easy route but I believe you gain more skills along the way, in terms of time management and self motivation . And these are skills that a university will be looking for.

I have just completed 2 GCSE's with NEC as a mature student, Maths and Astronomy. I found the course material very indepth and well written, and both of my tutors were very knowledgeable and quick to help. I never had to wait long for a response. My experience was very positive and I would happily study with them again. I cannot for the life of me understand the reviews claiming the college is a "scam", it most definitely is not.

They don't book you exam place even though it is guaranteed, some of the tutors take breaks from work far too often, their website loading time is a few minutes which is strange because it keeps going into maintenance. Do not use NEC for GCSEs or A levels, for me it has been nothing but a pain to deal with.

Received an A for English Literature back in October (Much to my surprise) through the NEC and am currently awaiting a certificate. A distance learning course takes ALOT of discipline from the learner and you will have to be prepared to teach yourself from large amounts of text/information without much tutor input, which probably explains the negative reviews as this isn't always made clear.
As someone who has done distance learning before, I will say the exam process could do with a bit more clarification/streamlining but overall, a good experience.

Excellent College. From a smooth , stress free sign up process , through excellently planned materials and assignments with quality feedback to a grade 8 GCSE . Impressed at all stages and looking at what to do next. I like to think I know a little about education as my Masters was in schools improvement !

I'm not a customer BUT.... remember, they're not offering you any actual tuition per se. In fact, they actually charge EXTRA for access to a tutor. This is another typical home learning scam no different to Learn Direct.
