Would leave 0 stars if I could. Went there for 2 years doing the art and graphic design course. The teachers were basically non existent and you pretty much get failed by everyone from the second you walk in.
I went to pick up my art work today after them “needing to keep it” for marking purposes when in reality they’d been shoving it up around the college when I specifically asked them not to. So when I received it back today it was covered in stains and marks so I can’t use it for anything now.
If you have any hope to get taught and respected don’t go to this college, biggest waste of time I’ve ever had

I found that in the three years I was at this college (more specifically the art department) I found that it was an amazing place, the staff were welcoming and pushed us to think creativily in both the Fine art and photography classes, as well as the media class. All the teachers work hard to help the students understand and gain the results they want.

The reason I mark it as 4 stars is the lack of funding the art department gets, which I know is not their fault. The staff do try and support the students if they cannot afford some equipment, however the funding for the arts are not sufficient to last the year. But to just make you aware, some supplies aren't cheap, but the moderately cheap ones can sometimes work just as good.

Overall it is a great college, I urge anyone thinking of going there to give it a try! Plus the cafe called Refresh is the best place to go for a hot drink and a chat!

I enjoyed Wilberforce College immensely. I found a love for the subjects I studied and I was really inspired and supported by my tutors. They helped me find direction in life and I’m now a journalist. I made loads of friends and enjoyed a good social life too!

I would give 0 stars if it were an option. I had the worst year of my life at this dump! do not go here or send your children here. the staff are appalling and they treat there students with no respect or understanding whatsoever. I never normally write reviews but I had such a bad experience at Wilberforce college. I had the worst drama teacher I have ever had in my life at this college who almost made me give up on my ambitions. They treated me like a naughty school child instead of making any attempt to find the source of my bad attendance or falling grades, which were result of a very serious situation in my life at the time which the college could and should have helped me to improve. I cannot find the right words to express my disgust at this establishment and all I hope is that this review will stop someone else from giving them there time.

Poor teaching. Had lots of issues during course length for example issues with teachers unable to mark work and teachers leaving/being fired. Criteria for work changed at times and teachers sometimes struggled to control classes. Heads of departments need to take more control and overall teaching quality needs to improve.

The positive small class sizes. My son got asked to do a paper on the news for his media studies, so he randomly clicked on headlines on the web. Next time he went into college, his swipe card didn't work, he spoke to reception, they said he wasn't allowed back in until he'd had an interview, two members of staff interrogated him for over an hour. My son had no idea why? He realised they thought he'd joined the EDL, he didn't even know who the EDL was! They told him he may not be allowed back to college, or he could be suspended. At no point did the call me, the parent. My son said to the staff you do realise that I'm half Asian, he doesn't look it. Only then did they let him off the hook. If he hadn't been mixed race god knows what would have happened, dread to think! I did call the college to complain, they apologized. They terrified him, if the college doesn't like this review call me, the college is far left gone mad, and that's from a mixed race family!!

Honestly a great college to go for if you need a wide range of courses. The timetable schedule is laid back and allows you more time to study or hang with friends and all areas have COVID19 restrictions.
