I wouldn't recommend this college to anyone as for how they handle exams, the timetables and teachers leaving. Most of my last year in college there have been teachers leaving, taught lessons weren't good enough, some rude staff members and taking it out on students that haven't completed the work because they don't teach us at all. We're made to teach ourselves with what resources? The lack of organisation in this college is awful, they changed the exam dates multiple times and won't sort out if you missed an exam, they say that 'you've failed the whole course' when it was out of my reach. I'm not sure about other courses but I would definitely not recommend doing criminology and law and psychology. The head of institute for criminology, law and psychology is appalling when I needed help.

Don't bother with these. They call a very basic one day first aid course ''Level 3''. They wouldn't send you a certificate after completing the course and will never answer the phone. You can get it only if you pester them with multiple emails more than 1.5 months after completing the course and they will lie that it's still not issued...The certificate would be eventually sent and you would find that they kept it for a month after it's been issued for no reason. Complete waste of time.

I cannot deter young adults from coming to this college enough!! I am currently towards the end of the studying L3 Criminology, Psychology and Law and I have never experienced such a poor eduction system as I have at my 3 years at Hull College.

Throughout this last school year, we have lost 4 members of staff who each taught one of the subjects (Crim, Psych, Law), leaving students studying the course both at Level 2 and 3 without lessons, with last minute timetable changes, mess of exams etc. The lack of support, guidance and explanation on several subjects, matters and issues etc., leaves students to figure everything out for themselves, with many classes referred to as ‘self-policed’ which the teachers think is a good thing!!!
As students aspiring to progress onto University, the last thing you need is a lack of lessons, last minute changes in end of year exams, cancelled trips, last minute cancellations to lessons and disrupted exams with unknowing invigilators and arrogant teachers who will find any excuse to blame the departments failures onto to you as a student. They are more concerned with completing ‘Progress reviews’ throughout the year, then they are actually making sure you’re making any progress. It took them 5 months to start making assignments! 3 times exam date was changed, twice the presentation date for the EPQ has been changed (oh and don’t worry, you won’t be guided through the EPQ either!)

Honestly, the only thing that any student will come out with from Hull College is a headache!
To anyone who comes to this college, more specifically the Crim and Law Department…. Good Luck, you’ll need it.

Recently called up the 14-16 collage reception to be greeted with an obnoxious rude unprofessional receptions who has no clue how to speak to people.

So glad our phone records these calls

After a few errors on a register by staff miss marking saying our son was not in lesson when they was we have called up 3 times to be told the same thing very blunt and rudely.

Very moody receptionist told us our son was lying and telling us porkys then told him why does he need to get his parents to call up something very wrong with her or the way she works needs looking into. Stay away from my son you crazy woman

Trying to get my bus tickets sorted and no one even listens or cares, said they’d get sorted and they haven’t. Wasn’t an issue in prior years.
