This school is well led and has been very supportive with my daughter's needs. The opportunity to learn and develop is exceptional compared to other local schools. My review would have been a 5 star but due to the following has swayed my decision:- there is a paticular admin/secretary who needs support with anger management, she shouts too much at the children and was really rude to me when I couldn't get the door to open. Lastly, during winter the year 10 children can not wear jumpers only white shirt and blazers, which puzzles me, as the weather has been bitter and jumpers will help to insulate/regulate their natural body temperature, I really hope this matter gets addressed. Overall my daughter states she feels supported, has her personal health needs supported, cared for, and has met some lovely friends which is always a bonus for any child.

Racist staff. Make racist comments to brown and black students. Offer bare minimum support. The staff is completely incompetent. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS TO THIS SCHOOL ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A MINORITY

My son’s first year in college/sixth form and what a difference I can see from him. The excitement able to get up without a parent or guardian waking him up. The teachers and the sixth form is absolutely exceptional I can not wait for him to bloom and showcase his potential.

I am most impressed with the Academy and is a fantastic opportunity for my child. My child is happy here and is excelling better that he was at his old school, plus he has an opportunity to gain a qualification in engineering which is a career that he wants to pursue. The staff are brilliant and the Head Teacher is very passionate about his school and his students that is plain to see!! I am really pleased with his learning especially everyday life skills like finance etc. this teaches my child what the real world is about. We are happy that my child attends here and he is too.

Regret moving my child to this school and wouldn’t encourage others to. This school had. their first ever year 9 class in 2019 who had the most rough journey up to gcse due to covid yet the school still treat them bad. For the schools first ever year 9 class you would think they would treat them better, but no, they couldn’t even plan for them a simple prom, instead they leave students in charge to do something last minute. This school does not care about their students and are too strict on them when unnecessary. I remember my child telling me when they first joined how the school would tell them to go back to their old school after any minor inconvenience, should’ve took the offer.

1 star because I was bullied very bad in that college. My whole 2 years experience in that college is full of bad memories. I was even hit by a Somalian boy but The principal Mr tubb didn't believe me or do anything about it. 95% students were rebellious and bullies. This is a school for outcasts. Wouldn’t recommend it for anyone especially girls.

After listening to an extremely persuasive open evening and having heard a few good comments on the academy from students already there, I decided to enroll my child. Not only did they promise a good education, with many great and unique opportunities for my child to experience but also a sense of respect that my child would be treated as an adult in a "working environment", they always refer to.
Yet, how can any of this be offered when the academy is severely under staffed, in both English and the Engineering department? Is this not an Engineering academy that they teach Engineering?
However, they always find time to take my child on wild gallivants around the country out of the expense of my pocket of course. Always promising that it is necessary for their education and their future, when in reality they would have been better off in class, learning the material that is really necessary for their future.
Speaking of class, the hours any child has to work there is ridiculous. 3 hours on lessons for a 30minute lunch? And there is barely any facilities available apart from a tiny canteen and roughly 20feet of a rectangle box, known as a playground.
In addition, this respect that the talk of is nothing more than a lie that they impose to make young adolescents feel empowered and trusted, when they really are treated like primary children. In fact worse, atleast primary school children aren't lied to.
For a 16 million pound building I expected an education worth double it's cost, but what you are given is tacky, rundown council estate worth education that would be better delivered in a youth center.
No amount of fancy technology can hide bad teaching.

Excellent school with great facilities and kind and supporting staff. Since joining the academy i have always felt nothing but comfortable and the level of extra support they give is incredible. I have excelled numerous lessons and hit above targets with the support my teachers give. I cannot reccomend my academy enough!
