doing Fabrication and Welding level 3 and the teachers are brilliant, they help you with any task you need and are very understanding. East block is very tidy and has the highest quality equipment ready for learning. the teachers deserve a payrise for the effort they put in.

I attended the sixth form and I do not reccomend. I struggled with health problems and mental health and they did not care in the slightest. They were extremely unhelpful and did not care. They were constantly trying to get me to leave even though I was getting good grades and doing all of the work. After the constant pressure and with no help I did decide to leave. The teaching is awful too. They don't care about their students well being. They only care about their attendance and OFSTED ratings.

Awful college , like they don't even want you there. Some nice teachers. Some teachers don't even show up. Some teachers are covers teachers with no experience for half your course. If you want to get an education don't come here. They need to get better management , who are also not nice people

Tried registering for a Level 2 course with them, seems like these people have never had non-Brits attending their courses. After 3 weeks of providing clarifications, photos of documents and evidence on top of more evidence, that I can live and work here, I was still not fully registered. All that was left was for them to ask me to describe what the boat looked like, the one I crossed the channel in.. Appalling and disgusting racist attitude

This review is for the Level 3 Award in Education and Training course & Hollie Barnes-Lomax (lecturer) specifically.

I recently completed the course which is a ten week, evening course. It’s 3hrs long every Thursday evening which is quite intense if you haven’t been in education for a long time like many of us but it’s definitely worth it if you are a workplace trainer, or are looking to do some sort of training, training coordinator, teacher, learning support etc

You get assignments pretty much straight away upon starting the course but Hollie explains everything very clearly. She has the PowerPoint, handouts, etc on teams so you can pre-access them before each class or even after, which a lot of my peers really liked. I would recommend you attend every session (10 altogether) otherwise you miss out on the discussions, note taking, & it can get difficult to stay on top of the course. Hollie was super approachable & even returned work to us during the weekend outside of her working hours which I thought went above & beyond!! Her passion for teaching & learning is evident & it definitely caught on. We all worked harder knowing how much she was invested in our learning & advancement. I’ve had a lot of teachers previously but you can tell Hollie isn’t just passionate at her job & getting results but she checks we all understand before she moves on. Even allowing those that may not be as confident at asking questions during the class, to ask her afterwards or via email or teams which was helpful. Her assignment feedback is always on time & communication is 10/10 on her part. In the 3hr class you get a 10min quick break. There was a vending machine on our block so you can quickly get refreshments.

I could not recommend this course enough anyone & I think if you have an opportunity to sign up for it next year. Do It!! It will be worthwhile. I’ve learnt so much which is hard to believe in such a small amount of time & it has opened up so much new options I hadn’t considered previously. If all teachers were as passionate as Hollie I don’t think any student would fail a course ever! She’s a great motivator which is great as sometimes after a long day at work etc you need it.

All in all, I hope she gets the recognition she deserves, along with all the support staff that we don’t see behind the scenes. You have made a huge impact & impression on myself & I’m sure many others. My last college experience (19 years ago) is definitely a thing of the past now & I am glad I gave college another chance.

The building still looks the same but the atmosphere is 10/10. Thank you & I will recommend this course & Hollie to everyone I meet!

Both of my teenagers have been here and it has been poor for the full duration. Two different courses and lecturers never in or didn’t care, then leaving and being replaced. I can’t wait for my last teenager to finish that place in twenty days time and never have to be involved in that college anymore. Would not recommend to anyone,

I am currently studying a level 3 course within this college, really great college, staff are friendly, students are friendly. They often hold events within the main area of college.

One downside is that some of our teachers have left partway through the year which has disrupted for some time however the college quickly found new teachers so after one teacher left, a replacement will be in by next week.

Courses here are also cheap to those who have to pay, it really surprised me as I was looking into some courses for my mum as she wants to go to college. Courses range typically from £1000 to £2000.
