I swim at the leisure centre every week and have for at least 15 years. Yes it could do with a bit of T.L.C. but I have never encountered some of the issues that are in the reviews.
The staff are always friendly and nice.
It isn't one of those leisure centres that are impersonal , it's a lovely place that does what it says on the pack and provides for your uses.
I have never used the gym but it always seems busy

Love for the first time. Pool is quite old but in nice location, big parking sourness by trees. Inside is open space and you can see evrything. I have never been so close to pool before. Good vibes, nice, fam and friendly place.

*RACIALLY TARGETED* I WILL NEVER SUBJECT MYSELF TO THIS PLACE AGAIN.
I ATTENDED THE SWIMMING POOL SATURDAY 18TH JANUARY AT APPROXIMATELY 3.30PM. I ATTENDED WITH MY 14 YEAR OLD AUTISTIC SISTER WHO I CARE FOR.
WE WERE TARGETED RIGHT FROM THE START. MY SISTER AND I BEING MUSLIM HALF AFRICANS, WE HAVE TO WEAR MODEST CLOTHING AT ALL TIMES. OUR SWIMWEAR IS CORRECT SWIMWEAR BUT HAS LEGS SIMILAR TO A WETSUITS. THEY ARE WHAT WE HAVE WORN ALL OUR LIVES AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE BUT WE WERE INTERROGATED ABOUT IT IN A VERY RUDE AND DEMEANING MANNER. IT DIDNT END THERE. THE MEMBER OF OF STAFF WHO DECIDED TO TARGET US, WATCHED EVERYTHING WE DID, SHE STOOD AT THE EDGE OF THE POOL COMMANED US TO PROVE WE CAN SWIM A LENGTH WHILE SHE MONITORED US, DELIBERATELY HUMILIATING US. WE DID AS SHE SAID BECAUSE SHE GAVE US AN ULTIMATUM, PROVE WE CAN SWIM OR GET OUT, BEAR IN MIND I ASSURED HER WE ARE BOTH EXPERIENCED SWIMMERS. SHE DID NOT TO THIS TO ANYONE ELSE FOR THE ENTIRETY OF OUR SWIM. HER FOCUS WAS US. THE WOMAN/GIRL WAS NOT READY TO STOP BULLYING AND TARGETING US. IT WAS AT THIS NEXT ORDEAL I REALISED WE WERE BEING RACIALLY ABUSED. WHEN WE WENT INTO THE CHANGING ROOM, THE BULLY TOOK A BUCKET OF CLEANING FLUID AND WATER AND TIPPED IT AT OUR FEET WITH THE MOST DISGUSTED EXPRESSION, LIKE WE ARE DIRTY OR HAVE GERMS. WE WERE BOTH IN SHOCK. AT THE END OF OUR SESSION, CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME, WE WENT TO THE FRONT DOORS TO LEAVE, BUT OUR UBER WAS NOT QUITE THERE YET, AT THIS POINT A MALE, TALL WHITE, SHORT BROWN HAIR, AGE 35+ BULLIED US TOO, HE TOKD US TO GET OUT, WE CANT WAIT FOR UBER IN THE BUILDING. BEING TOLD ITS CLOSING TIME I CAN ACCEPT, BUT WHY SPEAK TO US WITH SUCH ANGER AND DISGUST, OUR PRESENCE JUST SEEMED TO BE A TOTAL DISGUST TO THESE PEOPLE. THIS HAS REALLY KNOCKED MY SISTERS CONFIDENCE GIVEN ALL THE STRUGGLES SHE ALREADY FACES AS AN AUTISTIC CHILD. I HAVE TRIED TO JUST MOVE ON AND ACCEPT SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE THIS, BUT IT IS PLAYING ON MY MIND TERRIBLY. I DONT SEE WHY I SHOULD HAVE TO OVERLOOK SUCH AN INCIDENT, WE DID NOTHING WRONG AND WE WERE CLEARLY TARGETED AND BULLIED, 100% BECAUSE OF OUR SKIN COLOUR. IF I DONT SPEAK, HOW WILL ANYTHING EVER CHANGE? THE YOUNG WOMAN WAS SLIM, TALL, VERY LONG STRAIGHT BROWN HAIR. IF YOU ARE NOT WHITE, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU RISK GOING THERE, ITS NOT WORTH PUTTING YOURSELF THROUGH SUCH AN ORDEAL WITH SUCH AWFUL PEOPLE. ITS 2025, HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE STILL THINKING THIS WAY?

Very nice pool to go to, the water is reasonably warm compared to other swimming pools. They've now added a slide and some other bits for children to play with.

This swimming bath is revolting the pools smell of wee there is plasters,blood,tampons and condoms on the floor everywhere. The pool is 100 percent wee.the bottom of the pool has blood and little yellow bits on it.i would 100% not recommend

I have been coming here for a few years and although I have been to other swimming baths too, I prefer it here at Darlaston. Yes, it is a bit shabby and could do with a refurbishment, but I like it how it isn’t as busy as other places. Other swimming baths might be newer and bigger, but they are also rammed full of people. The set up here is different but again, I like it. There are no separate changing rooms for men and women. You don’t need this though, as there are cubicles which you can use. When you are in the main swimming pool, the small pool is right next to it and you can see reception and the cafe seats from the pool too. I think this is ideal for parents/guardians who are waiting for children who have swimming lessons. Everything is on one level so there are no stairs or steps (wheelchair friendly). If you have a problem, it doesn’t take you ages to get to reception, as this is a few seconds away from wherever you are. There is also a small steam room, a gym, lockers (£1 which you get back), hair dryers, cubicle showers and a free big car park. The staff are always very friendly and so are the regular customers. This place offers other activities too, such as children’s parties.
