This is a great hotel in a great location! You are only minutes away from the centre, so no taxis or buses to catch. Clifford's tower just over the road and the museum just on the otherside of the mound. Staff exceptionally friendly & polite. Hotel layout is nice and the room we stayed in was comfortable. Bed and pillows fantastic so got a great night's sleep. Our room could have benefited from air-conditioning? It may have had it but did not find a control panel on the walls. We opened the window instead. Parking is available which is valet parking on a first come first serve basis and cost £30 per day which is slightly more than the carpark over the road but you know your car is safe in a locked underground garage and it won't be dinged. Breakfast and dinner is available but we made alternative arrangments. Overall a pleasant hotel too stay at.

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit York over the course of the weekend and we booked the Hilton as it was a special birthday and we wanted to stay somewhere away from the usual Premier inn type places.||The location is excellent, walking distance from the station and the staff could not be better. The reception team were superb they provided an early check in and couldn't have been more helpful. The hotel is clean and sharp and was friendly. Sadly it goes downhill from there. Our room on the 3rd floor had a street view but was more akin to a Premier Inn than a Hilton. No climate control. A window that cracked open 2 inches onto the street was our only ventilation. No fan in the room. The bed was a standard double. The bathroom was a bath/shower and it was very very basic.||Our sleep was constantly interrupted by noise from the street overnight and at 530 when the bin wagon came. Having to keep the window open meant it was very very noisy. I'll think twice about staying here again.

We had a fantastic 5 night break at the York Hilton with a top floor room overlooking Clifford’s Tower. Hotel was very quiet welcoming and nice staff. Nice restaurant with plenty of choice at breakfast and the omelette chef was fantastic. Always plenty of of food topped up regularly. We were offered tea in a teapot rather than making it in a cup which is so much better. Could not fault the hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff, great location with some nice restaurants nearby. Could thoroughly recommend and will be back when next in York.

Staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you. The location is perfect for walking to the centre. Public parking close by. Breakfast was lovely and fresh and a good choice for the day ahead.
We did hear some noise from the road below, I think it was morning deliveries, but this was after 7am. A great view of Clifford's Tower from the room. A thoroughly enjoyable stay. Christine at the bar is lovely and very knowledgeable too. Was nice to come back to a lovely hotel after a full day, very relaxing. Will definitely be back.

The main advantage of Hilton York is the wonderful central location and the staff are also very friendly. Unfortunately the hotel is generally tired and has outdated rooms, especially the bathrooms, although they appeared to be doing some refurbishment work, so maybe this will change over the coming months. 

||Check in was good and status recognised. Sadly this hotel doesn’t have a lounge but we did receive two vouchers for hot drinks, where many others will offer alcoholic drinks as well. Maybe as the city has so many good pubs they don’t see the point. Fair enough!

||Not only are the bathrooms out of date, they are also small by modern standards. The hotel also suffers from a lack of sufficient sound-proofing, with lots of slamming doors. If you are at the front of the hotel then you will have a good view of the castle.||Breakfast here is good and I had a decent cooked-to-order omelette, but there are larger spreads available at other Hiltons. Needless to say, you are not going to go hungry at breakfast here.||Parking is available almost directly outside the hotel, although this has nothing to do with hotel who only offer a valet parking offer at £30. We parked elsewhere in the city and walked in.||We are unlikely to stay here again until a full refurbishment has taken place.

An excellent hotel in York. A central location so it is easy to access to town centre. A 20-30 min walk from the station, but taxis readily available. The staff are friendly, the rooms are generously sized and great facilities. The breakfast had a great variety, catering to all tastes.

Amazing team at Hilton York always doing whatever is needed to ensure a happy experience. ||Great breakfast experience with Charlotte making sure all was good for us and Shirley preparing perfect poached eggs to order!||Bar and restaurant team always going above and beyond and housekeeping behind the scenes making sure the place is clean at all times. ||Great team making it a great stay!!

I gave it three stars as it was a birthday treat /surprise from my wife. Great location, the room was okay but the bed was too low like sleeping on the floor. Staff were friendly and helpful on advice on getting around. The breakfast was okay not like the advert on the TV and gets rather busy to find somewhere to sit. It's the location that makes it popular.
