Absolutely brilliant experience. Andrew and his mum were brilliant. Andrew did an amazing job at keeping the kids engaged. They learnt the basics of keeping a happy horse, and were involved in everything, from poo picking, hoof cleaning and grooming. The riding lesson at the end was brilliant, my girls loved it. Thank you very much. I'd highly recommend and would love to visit again!!

Would highly recommend this riding school to anyone. The horses are well cared for and well behaved. The instructors are enthusiastic and really care about rider progression. Very impressed all round 🙂

I wouldn’t consider using anywhere else. The horse’s welfare is always top priority here, as is the rider’s safety. The BHS accreditation is also a fantastic asset. The team know their riders well and always do their best to accommodate requests. A welcoming yard and you really are made to feel like family, no matter if you have had experience with horses or ponies before. Lots of lovely opportunities to take part in many events, such as owning a pony and taking part in a show, to hacks out and learning horse husbandry on the pony star sessions. The experience of the team is vast and clearly the staff feel valued and love it too, as we see the same people every time. Keep up the amazing work!

Howden Equestrian is a fantastic riding school in every way. As an adult rider who began at Howden Equestrian after a break of several years from horses, the whole team has been incredibly supportive with my riding journey. What sets them apart from other riding schools is the exemplary level of horse welfare, the high standard of training and expertise of all team members, and the many opportunities for rider development, such as BHS pathways or yard dressage competitions. Janice has been my instructor for a number of years and she has really helped me be ambitious with my riding and make fantastic progress. There is a lovely community at the yard of adult riders of all experience levels, but equally there is a wide offering for children. I could not recommend Howden Equestrian highly enough and love riding here!

I Love this place!

They have a BHS 5 star rating and a East Riding of Yorkshire licence 5 star ratting which you can tell when your there.

The instructors know there stuff and they actually listened to me which was really useful in my progression.

The horses are NOT OVER WORKED they choose to give them rest days and weeks off and they actually look happy.

This place is a small gem. A great place to learn to ride and progress to ownership!

My wife has riding lessons here every week. She chose this school for the friendly, caring and encouraging people that own it. After having several lessons now, she is more confident and having time for herself a more relaxed person. The stables and horses are well cared for and Janice, Andrew and the team should be very proud of the work they do. I'm really not sure Becky Downes has reviewed the right place! 😢

The experience Becky Downes describes contradicts every experience I have received here. All members of the HE team are polite, friendly & professional individuals. The reference to the "lead instructor" provides an indication of this reviewers arrogant assumptions.
I wonder if calling first rather than popping in would have provided the required attention this reviewer seems to expect. Rather than expecting a VIP tour on demand.
Having spent many weeks riding at HE I can highly recommend lessons here. The horses are well trained (& well cared for) & every member of the team are always patient & courteous.
Riding lessons here are fun as well as productive, I thoroughly enjoy riding here.
