I started boxing in my third year of uni and have never done anything like it before, and Pat Bensons were very accommodating and always took the time out of training sessions to go over basics. They make sure people at all levels are welcome and give u opportunities to do all kinds of sessions, from fitness to ring sparring! So glad I joined this year :))

Really good boxing gym which is accessible for all skill levels. The coaches are very supportive and make the sessions enjoyable whilst also developing your boxing skills each session. Would highly recommend 👊🏾

I’ve been on the UOB Boxing programme at PBBA for just under two years and I can comfortably say it has made my university experience.
A great group of boxers and coaches are very welcoming to new students of all boxing abilities, and offer many routes for progression with the likes of student fight nights, club shows, and BUCS competition.
You get exactly what you put in and Brad and the rest of the coaching team push you strongly to become the best version of yourself. 👊

Great coaches and great sessions week after week. Started off with UoB sessions in September 2024 and by March 2025 i was attending 4 times a week preparing for fight night. Definitely going to be staying at Pat Bensons for a long time working on my fitness and the sport.

I've seen the good that PBBA do for the local community, and boxing with them has been one of the best parts of my time at the University of Birmingham. Whether you've already had a go at amateur boxing, or you're keen to try out a new sport, I couldn't recommend these guys higher.

As a MSc student (UoB) coming into Birmingham for the first time, I was a bit weary about picking up a sport I’d never tried before and being around peers who’d been training for a lot longer than me. Those worries were squashed at the first session, as there’s nothing but motivation, positivity and an incredible community here. The instructors are so understanding of any physical or mental boundaries, whilst pushing you in a healthy manner.

Been to different boxing gyms in Birmingham and Pat Benson's has to be the best, great vibe and the staff are great. Kids absolutely love it and always look forward to going to their next class. Also big shout out to coach Bradley, really has transformed my kids both physically and mentally and looking forward to seeing them progress over the years!!
