I recently took part in the beginner course with trainer Chris.
Chris was an excellent trainer and very knowledgeable.
Though there was a lot of information (all extremely helpful) to take in, Chris explained it in a very useful way and gave me plenty of time to ask questions, take notes and made sure I understood before we moved on.
I came away from the course feeling confident I can use what I learnt to progress my photography skills and I’m looking forward to take part in another course with Chris to expand my knowledge even further.

The course was limited to just six people, which meant that Chris had time to deal with many individual questions, as well as leading us through the main topics. We quickly found ourselves learning from one another.
Having grown up in the pre-digital photography age, this course helped me regain control of my camera, when before it had absolutely taken over in auto mode, with many disappointing pictures.
The Q menu, was a new discovery and gave me boldness to look more closely at the main menu! The accompanying note sheet, meant I came away with the key information to go through at my own pace.
Refreshed an invigorated for some new photo shooting opportunities.

I took a beginner's DSLR course with Chris and found it really useful. Chris is incredibly knowledgeable but made sure we weren't overwhelmed with information. I came away with the skills to get my camera off auto mode and the confidence to experiment with the different settings.

Chris is an exceptional trainer, always able to explain what you need to know and a little more, so you can keep stretching yourself.
Both my wife and I found Chris to be extremely knowledgeable with respect to the area as well as photographing the locations. Although we were not able to go to our preferred waterfall location or the moor when the heather was at its best, due to re-scheduling for COVID, we still took some wonderful photos.
We are already talking about when we go on another course!

I bought my camera in 2015... and here I was in 2024 having my first formal lesson. This 1 day course reignited my interest in photography. Chris was a great tutor; well prepared and clearly has a life time of experience he is passionate to share. He came well prepared with a practical quick reference guide for each camera model. I think all of us were a bit anxious we didn't have enough experience- ..but in no time Chris made us all feel really comfortable and had set a lovely open tone in the group. Everyone felt very comfortable to ask questions. It really was a brilliant day. He was patient with our many questions, coaching us with great advice on the practical aspects such as tripods. The whole day was engaging and relaxing. I will be looking to attend a follow up course in the future.

Really useful course run by Chris. I'm now a lot more capable of understanding camera settings, particularly with shutter speed, aperture and ISO. I'm getting better at understanding why a particular picture I've taken doesn't work and how to correct for future images. Recommended!
