Plenty of parking, lovely walks around the quarry, good to see from the viewing platform when the quarry is working, let's you see how deep it is with the lorries and diggers working. Footpath gets very wet and slippery in winter so ware your boots. Plenty of seats to sit on and enjoy the view.

I've never dealt with the company, however the quarry itself and some of the old buildings near the entrance are fascinating. There's a viewing area so you can stand and look over into the vast quarry beneath you and watch the massive trucks (though they look like toys from your perspective) working down below you. There's a footpath all the way round the quarry, its a nice walk, though often muddy and obviously popular with dog walkers - not all of whom pick up after their dogs!

A massive slate quarry in the village of Delabole. At present (August 2021) it is closed to the public owing to Covid 19 but you can walk around to top and look down into the quarry. There are also some pleasant walks in the immediate vicinity that are popular with dog walkers. A stone circle has been erected above the offices on a hill from which you can get nice views of the surrounding countryside. The wild flowers are particularly impressive. There are presently no toilets or other facilities available as far as I could see.

Visited here in June 2018. Booked by phone the long tour which is £9 if you are over 65 and takes 2 hours. It was a long walk down to the quarry face and it was a very hot day. The guide was most informative and we learnt a lot. Eventually we walked back up to the top, which I found very hard, but luckily the works landrover came along and picked up those of us who were finding the going hard in the heat. Once we were all at the to we were shown round the sawing shed, hand cutting area, polishing and shot blasting areas. Well worth the money, but would be better if they had golf type buggies for us oldies if we need them.
