Fire marshal training course - St John Ambulance (Milton Keynes, South)

This review is in relation to Fire Marshall Training course at St John Ambulance Milton Keynes South.

Having been on other fire marshal courses in the past, which I had really enjoyed, this was a real disappointment. The course content appears to have been designed for children, you learn very little about the basics of fire, and even less about fire prevention.

Instead, you do get to sit on the floor in groups of 5, to arrange little plastic cards in order to match them up with which famous fires happen in which year. That took up about 1 hour of the course, as each group then goes through their answers. This is a total waste of time, as there is zero learning from it.

The trainer (Niki) has a very patronising tone, and comes across as if she is talking to a group of toddlers rather than paying adults. Fire is a serious issue, I totally get that. So tell us what went wrong to cause these famous fire, and at least there would be some learning from it.

I got the impression most other people attending found this uninformative, and boring. I see no reason to recommend it, when there are far better providers (in terms of course content and practical use of extinguishers) of Fire Marshall training for around the same price. One Star 🙁
