The first time I have been to the Academy a great experience and a fabulous haircut the staff where very friendly and listened to what I wanted , I had a cut and blow dry all supervised by very experienced staff , thanks

I’ve been here today and had my hair cut and styled by Xiaohui. I’m satisfied with the result and it now looks neat and nice. Xiaohui was attentive and listened to me.
Bare in mind that if you go as a model, it takes some time, as trainees are only gaining their experience. In my case it was 2-2,5 hours for shoulder-length hair(wash, cut and blow dry).
If you aren’t sure, maybe ask the main stylist who supervises the trainees to come and recommend you what to do with you hair. It made me feel safer in terms of my haircut and maybe was also useful for the trainee.

It seemed clean inside, but some sofas in the waiting area would be nice. It’s a bit weird when you’re waiting just to stand near the counter. But it didn’t last for long so can’t complain. It was quite empty inside when I came, and when I had my hair cut there were only 3-4 customers and enough place for everyone.

I came to Nicky Oliver Academy with no previous experience in the industry and within one year left with my NVQ level 2 + 3 in hairdressing and a Nicky Oliver diploma in barbering. The course was very hands on from the start and with great mentoring from Nicky, Alison and Laurel i have become a confident stylist. Would definitely recommend!

Do not come here as a hair model, mum came for cut as recommended before she got her hair coloured next time. Clearly said wanted the length left on the front and shorter at the back. Hairdresser was then left unsupervised and messily hacked off the front of my mums hair when clearly told not to do so. Staff came across rude and unbothered, could not have cared less when my mum was left distraught at the state of her hair. Would not recommend.

If you want to be the best you possibly can be then train with the best ! Then this is definitely the place for you . Such a warm and welcoming environment and both Nicky and Sylvia are highly skilled and have a wealth of knowledge to share about the hair and beauty industry . Highly recommended !

Nicky Oliver is probably the best motivator in hairdressing tuition I have ever met ,I have been in the business for over 50 years & have come across many trainers in our industry but no one as good
I first met Nicky doing a demonstration at the Blackpool hair fair & unlike ever other stands Nicky took models from the audience so no prep ( a task hairdressers do everyday)
This shows real talent & I could not wait to book Nicky for my team,I was not disappointed as the results were instant

Amazing training with amazing staff! So much knowledge and such a creative environment! If anyone is looking to train as a hairdresser or brush up on there skills this is the place to be!
